A 6-Session Beginner Herbal Medicine Series

This beginner-friendly workshop series is designed to empower you with the knowledge and confidence to use herbs safely and effectively to care for yourself and your family.

Over four Saturday mornings in Spring 2026 (March 21 - double session, April 11 & 25, May 9 - double session), we’ll explore the foundations of herbal medicine through a combination of education and hands-on herbal preparation. Each week focuses on one core type of herbal remedy paired with a specific body system, helping you understand not just how to make herbal medicine, but why and when to use it. You’ll learn how to prepare and use common herbal remedies such as teas, infused oils, and tinctures, while gaining a deeper understanding of how herbs support systems like the skin, nervous system, digestive system, and endocrine system.

This series is perfect for beginners who want practical, real-life herbal skills. No prior experience needed. You’ll leave each class with remedies you’ve made yourself, along with the confidence to begin building a functional home apothecary.

All materials and supplies are included. Takes place at The Apothecary in Hayden, ID.

If you are interested in attending individual workshops, email wildrootsmelissa@gmail.com for space availability. The schedule is as follows (9:00 am start time):

March 21: Digestion & Herbal Bitters (Herbal Bitters) + Nervous System Support (Calming Tea Blend)

April 11: Immune Support (Fire Cider)

April 25: Skin & First Aid (Infused Oil)

May 9: Women’s Health & Hormone Balance (Tincture Blend) + Putting It All Together (Personalized Wellness Tincture)

There will be one make-up session (Wednesday May 27 in the evening) that will substitute for one class if you have to miss a session. It will not be a full class, but you'll be able to make whatever herbal preparation you missed, and I'll go over some abbreviated info about the session you missed.

Please note: Because space and materials are reserved in advance, all workshop and class registrations are non-refundable.

Class led by Melissa Coburn, M.S. Clinical Herbal Medicine
